Application

L-asparaginase is known for its high efficacy in treating ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia), particularly in children, and has been a key component of chemotherapy protocols for this cancer for many years. It is an enzyme that breaks down the amino acid asparagine into aspartic acid and ammonia. Asparagine is essential for the growth and survival of certain cancer cells, particularly in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), a type of blood cancer. L-Asparaginase acts by depleting the asparagine levels, thereby disrupting the cancer cells’ ability to produce proteins and inhibits their growth, leading to cancer cell death.
